Manipulation Under Anesthesia
A specialized, MUA-certified procedure for chronic pain and restricted movement that hasn't responded to traditional treatment, performed with the patient sedated for maximum comfort.
What Is Manipulation Under Anesthesia?
Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA) is an advanced procedure for patients with chronic pain, scar tissue, and restricted range of motion that has not improved with conventional care. While the patient is lightly sedated, muscles fully relax, allowing Dr. Markowitz to perform gentle, precise manipulations and stretches that break up adhesions and restore mobility. Dr. Markowitz has been MUA-certified since 2007 through Logan College of Chiropractic, offering this specialized option when standard chiropractic adjustments are not enough.
